Draws take place every Friday, and Shelter is fully licensed and regulated by the Gambling Commission in Great Britain.

Each entry costs £1 per week. The lottery is promoted by Shelter, registered as a charity in England & Wales (263710) and Scotland (SC002327), with its offices at 88 Old Street, London, EC1V 9HU.

3. Who is eligible to play?

You must be 18 or over to enter the lottery - underage participation is an offence.

You could win the £500 jackpot or one of ten £5 prizes in the regular weekly draws. In 2025, the likelihood of winning a prize was, on average, 1 in 3,808 in our regular Shelter Weekly Lotteries and 1 in 434 in our Superdraw.

6. How are the proceeds used?

In 2025, £2,179,924 was raised from ticket sales in our weekly lotteries. 1.4% of this amount was spent on prizes, 15.23% was re-invested into growing our lottery programme so it can raise even more in the future and 83.37% was used to fund the vital work of Shelter.
