The housing crisis is an emergency. Every 4 minutes a household in England becomes homeless. Your lottery ticket will help to give advice and legal support to people facing housing issues right now. But that’s not all. You'll also be helping to fight for the changes that will be felt for years to come.

It's because of you and work like this that we will ultimately turn the tide on the housing crisis. Together we can make sure no one needs to turn to us for help.

In 2021, £854,543 was raised from ticket sales in our weekly lotteries. 3.41% of this amount was spent on prizes, 3.01% was re-invested into growing our lottery programme so it can raise even more in the future and 93.52% was used to fund the vital work of Shelter. This equates to a fantastic £799,159.66. The funds raised could fund our helpline in England for over 5 months, giving people struggling with urgent housing issues advice and support over the phone. *Based on the Lottery Submissions made by Shelter to the Gambling Commission, during the 2021 calendar year.

In 2021, the likelihood of winning a prize was, on average, 1 in 1,466 in our regular Shelter Weekly Lotteries.
